Identity: Objectives

Objectives: The set of statements below represent our hypotheses and expectations for the offices. The objectives have been broken into three categories to illustrate their value in more specific contexts. Some statements can be found in multiple categories, as their meaning may be definable in multiple contexts.

01. Social Objectives:
> To suggest the need for our communities to experience and explore design at all levels.
> To suggest respect for design among all levels of society.
> To suggest that collaboration and cooperation can be effective tools for positively changing our society.
> To suggest that a student office can stimulate a local economy.
> To suggest that strategic social networks can positively influence the fundamental elements of standard business
practices.
> To suggest that individuals can be catalysts for change
> To suggest that designers have a responsibility to the community they depend on

02. Design Objectives:
> To suggest that communication between disciplines can produce more complete solutions.
> To suggest honor and pride for design.
> We believe students have the ability to deliver professional design.
> We believe collaboration encourages good design.
> We believe creativity improves the work environment and message.
> To suggest a positive learning environment.
> To suggest sophistication achieved through the attention given by a focused group of students.
> To suggest value in co-development
> To suggest innovation through a more comprehensive situational analysis.
> To suggest the importance of educating those unaware of the opportunities design affords
> To suggest that an environment that supports the pursuit of passions will be more innovative than a purely discipline
focused environment
> To suggest the value of diverse but focused approach to problem solving

03. Business Objectives:
> To suggest great design at a great price.
> To suggest teamwork and collaboration.
> To suggest growth.
> To suggest a modular system that is easily adaptable nationally as well as internationally.
> To suggest a combination of experience levels and disciplines working together to meet a common goal.
> To suggest that a student office can stimulate a local economy.
> To suggest that many businesses existing within a local or regional setting can benefit from new perspectives.
> To suggest that strengthening the value of local businesses can stabilize small-scale economies.
> To suggest that stronger localized economies can secure the future of innovation.
> To suggest that real social and professional relationships made through the business will create a strong cooperative
community.

These statements represent our hypothesis' and expectations for the offices on three major levels; 1 social: how this business will fit within our current understanding of the socio-cultural atmosphere currently 2 design: what can this alliance do to benefit our design community as a whole, how we plan on being a proactive force in the progress of "design" in it's broadest sense 3 business: these are the principle ideas we think create a strong argument for the development of a network of this nature
